History of Unity and New Thought – HTS 140 Facilitated by Rev Joan Williams-Payne,
Two Saturdays times to be confirmed , zoom
March 11th and April 1st
This class looks into the history of the New Thought Movement, and the inspired leaders who led the way for us to experience Unity today.
Our roots come out of Transcendentalism, Christian Science and New Thought. Students will explore some of the leaders and movements that led to the healing and insights of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, who in turn, created Unity School of Christianity in the US, and thereby influencing us today.
They were inspiring times, and can still inspire us today in how we share what we know to be true, just as the leaders did who came before us.
This is not just a history lesson, as Unity is a movement and continues to grow and inspire, finding perhaps new language to reach and inspire in the 21st C.
We will also look at Unity in the UK, its growth and how we in the UK continue to connect, educate and serve.
More details and books/readings will be advised
