For some, Lent is a time of giving up a particular food or drink for six weeks before the celebrations of Easter Sunday, which often includes chocolate! Yet there is a much deeper meaning to this period.
In Unity, we focus on fasting from (acknowledging, honouring and releasing) behaviours or patterns that get in the way of us living happy, authentic, inspired lives. By doing this we make space for new energy to arise, connecting with the divine spark that is in each of us, the Christ consciousness, that becomes our guiding light.
This year, allow Lent to be a time of spiritual rebirth. For just as Jesus experienced transformation in the wilderness at the beginning of his ministry, you too, can experience transformation.
Right now on our planet, there is a call for change.
In Unity, we teach that change begins with us.
So, would you like to let go of thoughts and feelings that have held you back? Are you at a point in your life where you know you really want to change, but do not know how, or struggle to maintain the changes?
In this one day workshop we will use meditations, discussions and exercises to reflect on what we want to let go of and practise ways in which we can do this. As we make space by freeing ourselves of old patterns, we let the activity of God in and feast on new ideas, practices and behaviours.
Let this period of Lent be a real time of transformation. You have the Christ light within you. You have the potential to live your deepest and truest Christ Self. You have the potential to be the light of the world and help others know they are, too, just as we read in Scripture.
“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.” Mat. 5:14
