Love Never Fails
1 Cor. 13:8
It is easy, when faced with the problems and pain shown in the world, to get drawn into them and loose sight of who we all are.
Yet as we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the destruction caused by terrorism and fear, in our homes, communities and countries.
And at the same time, let us draw into our hearts the pain that we feel in response to these events. For the pain we see in the world is our pain, too.
Let us learn to heal our own pain, the pain of separation we feel from God. For as we heal and integrate our pain, the world outside us will do the same.
In truth, there is nothing outside of us – we are all one in God. Another person’s pain is our pain, and our pain is theirs. So let us come together and know that love ‘bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.‘ Love heals everything and everyone, as we let love become the truth of who we are.
