“I am free to release the past and begin anew.”
In many ways, Lent in Unity is about freeing ourselves from no longer required habits, to make space for new ones which serve ourselves and our world. With this in mind, this weekly thought is a sharing from one of our Unity teachers in training. It is written in the form of a Daily Word.
I may have been hurt by a loved one; or feel resentful about actions taken by friends or coworkers. Or perhaps I have regrets about past mistakes and lost opportunities.
Forgiveness is my path to freedom. When I forgive others, and forgive myself, I open up the channels of releasing and giving. I can give love to release the hurt; give compassion for resentment.
Supported by Divine love within me, I am free to let go of the past and embrace a fresh new start.
As we move through this season of Lent, may we each find space in our hearts to forgive ourselves and each other, through the healing power of love.
