In recent years I have found myself saying, bless you, a lot. It has never been with the intention of being condescending – but acknowledging the other person’s experience and holding them in love. By saying bless you, we do not make anyone right or wrong – but we are present with them. It is even more helpful if we can add when appropriate, is there anything I can do to support you? For me, life is all about building connections, by recognising the beautiful, if wounded, person in front of me. And, dare I say it, the beautiful, if wounded, person I sometimes experience as myself. Blessing another is being a gift – for everyone. Through our wounds we can heal and be stronger for them. It also has the impact of increase. If we bless something, the energy is expansive – there is the opportunity for uplifting change and growth because we have been heard and loved. How can we create positive change? By blessing something or someone. When we bless, we release the creative energy that is God as limitless, abundant good, here in the midst of us. Let us consciously bless life and all creation, in all its forms and expressions. Today we can ask ourselves, how can I be a blessing in the world today?
