Each day in Silent Unity UK, we take calls for prayer from people around the world. We have a wonderful team of fully trained volunteers who take the calls during the day, and a supportive message of prayer for people to listen to throughout the evening and night. Many tell us that they love to listen to the messages, as they support them in the dark hours, when life can seem so much harder than during the day. Here is an edited example of a prayer message, written by Rita C. Jerden Prayer - The Key to Release Have you ever felt that you were alone - the only person experiencing a particular challenge? Did you conceal your feelings in an emotional cocoon so that you did not have t deal with the unpleasantness of the situation? Most of us have felt this way and reacted this way at some point in our lives. However, through prayerful communion with God, we can acquire a spiritual strength that will help us break out of our emotional cocoons and live happy, fulfilling lives. Breaking free is not easy. There are times when we feel bound so tightly by fear and negativity that we cannot break free. However, we have one of the most powerful resources with which to free ourselves - prayer. Jesus once said to Peter, "I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe you have received it and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24) These words epitomise the magnificent power of prayer and this statement is meant for all of us. So, how do we use this magnificent key? In prayer, we first let go of the false belief that we are not worthy recipients of God's good. We become open and receptive to all that is available to us through the generous love of God. No longer trapped by fear, we fell the light of God as it begins to penetrate our hiding place and we once again see the realm of possibilities before us. As we continue in our prayer life, deepening our connection with and within God, we become stronger and more confident, able to let go of any limiting thought or emotion. We feel a surge of energy that fills us with the desire to experience new and exciting opportunities. We want out of our cocoon. In our desire to free ourselves, we hold thoughts of strength, perseverance and persistence as we pray. We gain confidence that anything which seems to stand in the way of our good can be removed. We are set free. Our invitation to you, from Silent Unity UK, is to practice prayer in this way. Persist and persevere. Call our prayer line (details below) to be supported in your prayer practice and know you are never alone. We are honoured to connect with you in prayer. Rev.
