OUR TRUE SELF REBORN

Here we are again: at the end of another year and the beginning of a new one. How is this year ending for you? Did you join us through Advent and our journey of faith, peace, love and joy, to witness the deeper awareness of your true spiritual nature and wholeness? It is an amazing, humbling and joyful journey to be on. One that reminds us to take time to be in the silence each day with God as Divine Heart and Mind within us.
 
As we take a little time to look back over last year, some may have experienced a wonderful year, filled with joy and celebrations. However, some of us may be feeling relief that the old year has passed, looking for a change in our lives and experiences.
 
Either way, one thing is for sure – as we deepen our practise and awareness of our true spiritual nature and wholeness, and let that energy move through us and from us, whatever our experiences, we find all the help, support, encouragement and life we need. And more than that, we discover an inner joy and peace which the world cannot remove.
 
This is something I deeply realised these last few weeks. We can be the most positive person in the world, and still experience challenges that knock us for six. The recent breakdown of our IT system was a huge event for us here at Unity. It would have been easy to feel victimised; get angry and upset. Instead, it was an opportunity to know that we are not in charge of life and the events that happen, but we can choose how we respond. We took right action to help restore the situation, at the same time continuing in our service of prayer and support. This meant continuing to pray, holding the high watch of faith during the emotional turmoil, asking for and getting support and coming through with a deeper experience of Truth working through us all. At this point, I also want to thank all of you who have supported the staff and myself through this time with your prayers, wisdom and love.
 
Joyful experiences are beautiful and uplifting. Yet, so often, it is through the hardest of challenges that we really come to know who and what we are.  As we move into the new year, whatever it brings to Unity and to you, I pray, affirming and giving thanks, that we all witness our deeper awareness of our true spiritual nature and wholeness. For it is this energy, our True Self shining, that will enable the year ahead to be a blessing for us, our loved ones and our world, whatever our experiences happen to be.
 
This new year, may you enjoy your True Self and bring the light that you are, into the world. Have a blessed New Year.
