I let my seeds grow at their own pace

This statement grew and germinated into this reflection following the seed of an idea that came to me one morning during our Daily Word meeting. When we entered into the quiet time of meditation and prayer, the words that came into my mind were ‘seed’ and ‘germinate’

Afterwards I pondered about it, and I ended up telling myself, “okay, but I have to let my seeds grow at their own pace”, or my ideas and thoughts will all get into a bit of a jumble…..which of course is not the aim.
As is usual for me I came back to nature as a good example – planting, growing and harvesting. Then thinking about that statement, I came up with – “Well that’s okay in nature, but I know I have to be careful and mindful of the seeds I am planting, because the human side of me might germinate them into something I wasn’t expecting!”
I realised at this point that I do not need to overthink it – which I imagine we all do sometimes when we come from our human perspective. So really, all we need to do is quietly turn within, and follow the divine guidance that our true nature will always reveal to us … and I am truly very grateful …

I have a goldfish called Mr Bubbles, who developed a nasty tumour on his eye a couple of years ago. Another fish had an abdominal tumour a few years ago and I took him to the vets, but he sadly died, bless him. This time, being aware of affirmative prayer and having had such good results with the problems with my neighbours, I decided to use affirmative prayer, surrogate EFT tapping and visualisation to try and heal him instead. I really believed I could do it, but after about six months I'd seen no changes (although, I realise now, that the tumour did in fact stop growing, so that was actually a change I didn't really acknowledge at the time) and was starting to have doubts. I decided to continue anyway and have just been grateful for having him with me all this time as he's such a cute little thing.

I noticed a few weeks ago the tumour had started to look very different...not so lumpy and nasty looking. Since then it's become much smaller, has changed colour, and I can actually see part of his eye again, whereas it was completely covered before (as was half his face).

It made me think of Carran's lovely talk about planting seeds and letting them grow. I think I put a time limit on what I wanted, and was then ready to give up. But, although it's taken two years compared to the three months it took to change my home situation, I'm so happy and it's given my faith a renewed bit of ooomph too! It hasn't completely healed...not yet, but I truly believe it will! It's like a miracle, as I've never heard of tumours just shrinking on their own, and the fact he's still alive, and happy, after two years is pretty fantastic too...
