i die daily!!

Tomorrow, Tuesday 6th May, our Conversations in Unity discussion is around the subject of death and dying. But death does not just have to mean the end of our physical life. Can we also say, I die daily to who I think I am, born again to what I really am?
This is a powerful statement. I invite you to stop for a minute or two and reflect on this for yourself now – what does this mean to you, personally?
Now read on …
For me, it is very much the path of surrender. Our human experiences, our human thinking, is so demanding it literally take us over, and we forget who and what we really are; spiritual beings inhabiting a human body. When we get consumed by our humanity; when our needs must be met ahead of everyone else, we may find ourselves in breakdown. For what we are experiencing and believing, needs to be broken down.
In my language – we break down to break through. This has been described as the dark night of the soul. Many have experienced this, including Saul of Tarsus when he became Paul. Bryon Katy is a more recent example of this breakdown being transformational.
Can we surrender into the breakdown experience – can we really and deeply let go of who we think we are? Because it is only when we do this, that the breakthrough happens. It does not need to be traumatic. It only becomes so when we resist the breakthrough. Prayer and meditation, being in the silence, are tools that will enable this breakthrough.
The invitation, to you, me and everyone, is to choose to break through the ‘I am only human’ limited thinking, and take on the beautiful, radiant life and light we are.
