You will have noticed that we have been writing and sharing about the power of prayer in recent weeks - after all, this is the foundation of our Unity movement. It is also the focus of our roadshow workshops we are taking around the country this year.
Today, we invite you to get ready to join Unity's annual World Day of Prayer, September 11th, and be part of this worldwide event that connects thousands and thousands of people in prayer. Our theme this year is: Be still and know. Our affirmation: "In the stillness, I awaken to divine wisdom." In Unity, we invite people to 'be the change we wish to see in the world.' We also know, through experience, that prayer changes us. Further, prayer is not just sending out words and wishes. It is a quest into our inner being, where we connect with God as our Source of Being. Prayer is potency released. It is an inward-out activity of mind and heart. (Eric Butterworth, a much-loved Unity author and minister.) In prayer, as we wait in silent anticipation, we hold the space for divine wisdom to illuminate our minds and hearts; divine love flows through us and as us. We are changed, and we experience our world differently. Be the change you want to see and join us, September 11th, for our World Day of Prayer. Visit our website for more details and to send us the names of those you would like us to hold in prayer with you. Rev.
