Single-minded devotion

“Zeal is single-minded devotion to one’s purpose.”

Linda Mertella-Whitsett, Divine Audacity, P93

When we look at successful people or entrepreneurs, enthusiasm along with single-mindedness is what helps them to succeed.

When we focus on our chosen purpose with enthusiasm, our intention and desire to succeed takes us through any opposition or block we may experience. The blocks often dissolve, as instead of giving them energy through our thoughts and words, we give our energy and enthusiasm to our focus to succeed. In fact the blocks may become tools that enable even greater success. As we stay focused on the present moment and what is ours to do now, the solutions to challenges become clear.

Is there a project you would like to do but haven’t got around to yet? Is now the time? Be honest with yourself. Where is your focus? Is it on what seems to be in the way, or can you shift it to using your faith, imagination and enthusiasm to start now. A famous Jewish proverb I love is, “If not me, who? If not now, when?”

Jesus told his disciples to

“… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Mt. 5:16)

Let your light shine as you channel your enthusiasm with single-minded devotion.
